Early Packet Pick-Up

Friday, December 1st, 2023

10:00 am – 6:00 pm

Dave & Buster’s

Be behind the scenes and the first to see how the race weekend begins! This is the first stop for runners as they prepare to run in the Panama City Beach Marathon as they pick up their race packet and prepare for their 26.2 mile, 13.1 mile, or 5K trek along the World’s Most Beautiful Beaches! Duties include organizing/handing out shirts, assisting runners with finding their bib number, greeting participants with smiles, answering questions/providing race information. Position requires some light lifting up to 30 lbs.

Aid Stations

Saturday, December 2nd, 2023

7:00 am – 1:00 pm

Multiple Locations on the Course

Great role for groups! This key role is not just about providing hydration support — but moral support and excitement! As runners travel the course, they may get fatigued; but with your smiling face and cheering attitude, you will revive them! Paint your faces, wear silly clothes — wear your team colors, make banners and posters with silly sayings. Duties include setting up the station, filling and stacking cups with water and Gatorade, restocking cups throughout the course of the morning, handing beverages to runners as they come by, cleaning up the area when the last runner passes ; acting crazy, screaming, cheering, laughing — anything to bring out a smile on our runners faces! Standing for long periods of time is required — jumping with excitement is encouraged!

Swag Bag Stuffing

Friday, December 1st, 2023

10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Dave & Buster’s

Does your volunteer organization have 5–10 focused, yet, energized individuals who can fill nearly 1,500 race swag bags with all sorts of goodies? This job is perfect for students seeking volunteer hours too!

Post-Race Area

Saturday, December 2nd, 2023

8:00 am – 1:30 pm

Start/Finish Line on South Pier Park Dr.

Be the first to greet the runners when they finish their journey as they cross the finish line. We need your help in the following areas:

  • Medals: Reward the runners by giving them their hard earned medal. Duties include: unwrapping medals and organizing on tables.
  • Bottled Water Distribution: Hand runners refreshing bottles of water. Duties include: opening cases and stocking pools.
  • Food Distribution: Make sure there are plenty of bananas and oranges for the runners. Fruit generously donated by Margaritaville in Pier Park; volunteers will need to walk/run back and forth frequently for restocking purposes.
  • Crowd Control: The runners are happy to be done! Some are waiting for their friends/family to cross. But we need to make sure everyone can get through so we don’t have a back-up of runners waiting to cross the finish line. Onlookers tend to gather around the finish line to give high-fives, hugs, congratulate finishers, take pictures, etc.; this can create a very dangerous environment for both runners and onlookers. Duties include keeping runners moving efficiently through the chute, preventing crowding around the finish line, directing runners to the post-race area where they can wait for loved ones and grab some fruit and water, get their Finisher medals, and make their way to the official after party at Margaritaville.
